The Talk Of the Town - Luna
15.2hh 6year old Chestnut Mare.
Nick and I purchased Luna as a 4year old, she had a quiet first season with us with only the one unaffiliated run but she was awesome to finish 10th.
Last year was her first proper season and she didn't disappoint, she has produced 11 out of 11 cross country clears so far at 90 and 100 and 7 of those double clears!
She was also being aimed at Brand Hall CIC* and Novice this year but it just gives us more time to improve her dressage!
Clann Cavalux - Cleo
16hh 7year old Mare.
Nick and I purchased Cleo as an unbroken 3year old and have produced her slowly for eventing. She won 2 BE90s in her first season and stepped up to BE100.
Last year she was placed in her 100s and stepped up to BE105.
The plan was for her to head to Brand Hall CIC* and then step up to Novice this year but that will have to wait.
TookYourTimeAlfie - Alfie
17hh 6year old bay gelding.
Owned and bred by Kate Lee, Alfie came to me as a 4year old to produce for eventing.
Last year was his first season eventing, he picked up a number of placings at 90 & 100, showing a promising future for him. We were hoping he would step upto BE105 this year however an easy year won't do him any harm allowing him time to grow into his huge frame and hopefully strength with it.
Anapolis aka Archie
Archie is owned by myself, my mum Mandy, Vanessa Woodhouse and Dottie Davies. He is a 16.1hh 7year old TB gelding.
Nick & I bought him as a 3 year old and produced him slowly for eventing. He stepped up to BE100 successfully last year, winning his section at Shelford Manor.
The plan was for him to head to Brand Hall CIC* and then step up to Novice this year however it looks like might just have to wait for next year.
We have had Hovis for nearly 9years now, he was originally purchased from Ascot sales for Nick to point to point but sadly he wasn't cut out for it. He then evented up to Novice with Jess before the reins were handed over to Nicks sister Maddie to be a BE90 schoolmaster and to have fun team chasing which has suited them both perfectly.
Legal Legend - Norm
17.2hh 13year old bay gelding.
Norm was trained for point to pointing & hunter chases by Chris Henn. He had a successful racing career, Nick became his jockey in his last couple of seasons. Norm gave us, the Henns and the Connell family who owned him, many fun days racing. Most notably for us would be the 4miler at Cheltenham hunter chase meeting!
When he retired from racing so did Nick so it felt fitting for him to retire with us. In his retirement he has really taken to team chasing, winning the intermediate championships with Nick as part of the Fox Grant Team and winning the Atherstone Novice speed with Myself as lead horse for Gin'll Fixit among many placings and wins with both . He is also enjoying some arena eventing and cross country schooling.
Wizard From Aus - Wiz
16.2hh 18year old bay gelding.
Wiz came into my life just over 4years ago thanks to a chance conversation between my dad and Beanie Sturgis.
I will be forever grateful to Beanie and her Mum Pat for trusting me with this special boy! He gave me my fire back for eventing, giving me a glimpse at international competition and with it the hunger to produce my next international horse.
He took me round my first intermediate, double clear at my first CCI**short at Gatcombe, made even more special that it was over my dad's showjumps, the final time they would be at gatcombe due to him retiring. He gave me a fantastic cross country ride at Chatsworth CCI**S.
And then there's Blair, definitely a favourite event for both of us! He just came alive there, it was as if the course was made for him.
Our first time there, it rained and rained, making the cross country very influential! After a stern word from Beanie and Nick I headed out onto the course with the aim of still sticking to our plan a. He was phenomenal, giving me the ride of my life coming home inside the time, one of only 20 to do so in a class off 130!
He produced the same foot perfect round when we returned the following year, the commentator even noted what a ride he was giving me!
Wiz is now retired from eventing and absolutely loves his retirement career doing Novice speed team chases already picking up wins and placings as part of the only way is Edgecote and Gin'll Fix It teams.
Freelander Duke - Duke
14.2hh 30year old gelding.
Duke is like the grandfather of the yard, he's been around for as long as I can remember! Mum was looking for a cob for her riding school when she purchased Duke for £250 from a picture of him jumping his stable door! It was a gamble that paid off and he served many years in the riding school and took many people to shows. When mum gave up the riding school she gifted him to the Noll family. He provide so much fun for Pete, Tess & Maddie as well as myself, taking me round my first 3ft6 showjumping at Abingdon Show when I was 10! He also competed for the Craven Pony Club and St Bartholomew's School with the Nolls.
In later years he showed Amber Priestly the ropes of competing before retiring with his best mate Bobby!
Cosmic Bob - Bobby
14.1hh 28years old bay gelding.
The Legend! We purchased Bobby when I was 10years old as my 3rd pony. He was a real handful for the first year and we were eliminated in nearly every show we entered, then something clicked and we formed an incredible partnership. He became an invaluable team member for the craven pony club and St Bartholomew's school.
We won the pony club are 14 junior showjumping out of 118 as our most notable success. He also won more showjumping classes than I can count. He took me to my first Milton Keynes three day event and my first British Eventing events. He really is my pony of a lifetime. When I moved onto horses, he taught Bethany Burkett and Mia Chambers the ropes of competing and even went on to win the Lands eventing 2 day event with Mia at the age of 23! He is now happily retired with his best mate Duke
