Jess left school at 17 to pursue a career in Eventing, working firstly for Kate Honey Eventing where she learned tremendous amounts and a brief stint for Fernhill Sport Horse rider, Duarte Seabra whilst he was in the UK.
Jess then worked a season for National Hunt trainer, Noel Chance followed by a summer riding out Arab racehorses for Julian Smart and Flat Horses for Michel Magnusson.
Then having developed a broad spectrum of knowledge, Jess firstly helped her mother Mandy Moody run Follyfoot Stables in Lambourn before relocating to Northamptonshire and opening Ashtree Sport Horses.
In her earlier years Jess was a key team member for the St Bartholomew's school team and Craven Hunt Pony Club, winning the Junior PC area showjumping individually and being the first person to represent them at open level in over a decade, along with being the youngest in her area to pass her B test at the time.
Jess has since evented to Intermediate and CCI**L but has had to take a step back from the international events whilst she produces the next set of horses.
Nick Meek left school at 16 and headed to the British Racing School (BRS) in Newmarket to begin his career in working with horses. After graduating from BRS he began his 10 year long employment within the racing industry, first starting out at Brendon Powells dual purpose yard in Lambourn and then moving to other racing yards during this time. Nick wanted to gain more experience in a varied specialities and has worked with a number of trainers such as breakers, pre-trainers, flat and jump horses. Nick has also spent time breaking in the stalions for Gassons Farm Stud alongside riding horses. Nick retired from race riding in 2018 after riding 15 winners and achieving a 5th place in the Cheltenham 4 mile Hunter Chase aboard Legal Legend (Norm) who has now become a cherished member of the family. Nick now freelances in natural horsemanship, farm work and film work for the Devils Horseman alongside running Ashtree Sport Horses with Jess.
